Eugene A. Boyle advises and represents employers of all sizes in traditional labor law matters under the National Labor Relations Act and similar state and local statutes.
With over 35 years of experience in labor relations, Gene brings comprehensive knowledge to complex workplace challenges. Gene negotiates collective bargaining agreements, supports his clients through grievance processes and represents them in arbitration and before the National Labor Relations Board. He helps employers meet their business goals by fostering a positive working relationship with their unions and employees, while ensuring that their rights are being fully and effectively utilized. When necessary, he helps plan for and manage work stoppages and strikes.
For employers that are union-free and want to stay that way, he helps them achieve their goals through positive employee relations, effective communication, policy development and proper supervisor and manager training. When an employer becomes the target of union organizing, he assists in navigating the legal complexities of the representation process and makes sure that his client is in the best position to achieve a positive outcome.
Gene takes the time to understand his clients’ businesses and the challenges they face. He frequently tours plants and workplaces to deepen his understanding of the processes, workflows and conditions. When an issue arises, he draws on his understanding of the client’s business and his decades of experience to arrive at an effective solution.
Labor relations can quickly become adversarial and confrontational. My clients appreciate that I maintain an even-tempered demeanor that effectively moves the parties toward agreement.
