Greg Whillis advises clients in the aviation, shipping, and maritime sectors on domestic and cross-border financial transactions.
Greg represents major financial institutions and export credit agencies in syndicated debt facilities, guides lenders through complex financing arrangements, and assists owners and lessors with asset sales, purchases, and leasing agreements. He also counsels clients on debt restructurings and has experience in shipping-related disputes, corporate jet financing and leasing arrangements.
Prior to joining Vedder, Greg worked at an international law firm in Tokyo on high-value financings for vessel repurposing projects involving international bank consortiums.

- Represented a major export credit agency on a USD445,000,000 guaranteed credit facility for the purchase and export of rolling stock into Kazakhstan
- Counseled a leading European bank on a USD120,000,000 multi-aircraft financing for a US legacy carrier
- Advised a hedge fund on the sale and purchase of 30 used engines, back-leveraged with a USD510,000,000 loan facility, and subsequent leasing arrangements with leading carriers worldwide
