Trevor Wood assists banks, funds and other financial institutions with cross-border financing, especially in emerging markets.
He advises on complex secured and unsecured financing matters, including restructuring and workouts, bilateral and syndicated loans, export and commodity finance, real estate and project finance, securitization matters (including regulatory) and distressed debt transactions.
Clients depend on Trevor in complex lending, restructuring and workout scenarios where creative solutions are critical. As a former banker, he understands how lenders and borrowers evaluate risk, and he uses that insight along with his extensive experience in international finance to redesign security packages, recalibrate intercreditor arrangements and streamline transactions across jurisdictions with unpredictable legal systems. By simplifying complexity into actionable solutions, he helps clients mitigate risk when closing financing deals in challenging markets.
Trevor’s ability to bridge legal and commercial perspectives also shapes his industry contributions. He co-founded the Asia Pacific Loan Market Association and drafted its first standard form documentation for primary and secondary loan deals, laying the groundwork for greater efficiency and consistency in the region’s finance markets. His career-long focus on emerging markets gives clients both seasoned judgment and practical, commercially tested strategies.
